my blog stats

Get ready, SCREENSHOTS incoming!

Just quickly, before that, I just wanted to make sure it’s clear what stats I am looking at specifically, and why I am mentioning Google Analytics, specifically (for any fellow beginner blogger girlies out there, as I once was, I got you!).

So, put very simply:

  1. I am looking ONLY at pageviews and sessions (views can be just a click onto any page on your blog vs sessions are a complete interaction with your blog which shows a more established block of time-spent AND engagement; which can include a session of multiple page-visits in ONE go. I’m still not sure as to the exact way Google measures 1 session, but sessions are the MOST important for your blog to gain credibility, recogition, trust, and to be monetised).

  2. I am looking ONLY at Google Analytics. Google Analytics is Google’s measure of traffic to your Blog, and is the most reliable measure of authority, or presence, you have online as a website. (I also focus on Google Analytics ONLY since, you will see later, that Ad agencies will look to Google Analytics to confirm your eligibility to be monetised or not. I’m not saying you can’t use other tools out there, but from my experience, they always show discrepancies in stats, so I prefer to go with Google Analytics since it seems to be the most trustworthy source).

Okay, into the main event now!

Below, I have screenshotted my Google Analytics pageviews and sessions for the very START OF 2025.

What I will ALSO show you is my current stats 1-month into 2025, for comparison, since THAT is when I am currently writing this blog post (but you will only see this post published a few months later - the art of batching content ahead in preparation for maternity!).

Quite honestly, this is my FIRST time looking at my blogging stats in 2025, since I know I still have a lot of development to go through as a blogger, and my focus has been EXACTLY THAT, so it makes me a bit nervous ahaha but it’s all about learning, growing, and facing the music, so let’s do this!

What we see here: a LONG WAY TO GO! A noticeable decrease even…

It’s normal to be slightly disheartened at the stats, as a beginner blogger, but honestly… my self-belief and drive is the strongest, and I know that it will take some time in general for my blogging content to rank on Google, consistency, and growth in my own journey with becoming better with blogging (which I share ALL, ALWAYS, here!) but I WILL get there in 2025.

monetising via ads

Our blog stats inform us on how well our blog is doing, which consequently informs us on available opportunities for monetisation; by seeing if we have reached certain targets for this.

ONE THING you will notice here is that I only go into ONE specific way to monetise my blog, and this is all because it reflects my specific goal for my blog in 2025: to get my blog MONETISED in 2025. (I guide you through how to find your specific blogging goal and show you in a separate blog post here! This may help you find your own direction, or perspective, with where you want to take your blog).

Definitely make this your own, if you have different blogging goals to mine, but you can still use the SAME method as what I am right here.

There are many ways to make money from our Blogs, but one of the most common and most profitable ways, is by applying to an ad agency, that will then display ads on your blog.

When your readers, and community, visit your blog, you will earn money from those ads displayed (whether they view the ads or not, depending on that agency’s agreement).

This is an amazing way to earn a passive stream of income, monthly, once your Blog has grown to become a large and known website.

This is the SPECIFIC way I will start to monetise my blog here, at in her Full Effect, in 2025.

To monetise via Ad agencies, we can look at MULTIPLE ad agencies, but the one I am working towards being approved by is called Mediavine. The reason:

  • it’s one of the most used ad agencies by successful bloggers, from my research

  • so, I trust it is a good-flowing and communicative agency to work with as a blogger

  • higher earning potential (bloggers can earn more money per ad displayed, versus other agencies like Adsense)

  • Mediavine is built to handle large traffic volumes, so it’s a sustainable agency for long-term blog monetisation growth

These are all crucial elements to take into account, since we want to earn money from our blogs, BUT we also want to know that as our blogs grow bigger and bigger, that the ad agency we work with can keep supplying us with a constant stream of income! Eventually, passive!

Of course feel free to do your own research, and see what best aligns with you!

Some bloggers prefer to monetise from a much smaller scale with agencies like Google Ads, which pays much less (given the much smaller traffic), but that’s why it is so important to know your specific blogging goal, so you know what to do with your blog stats, and blog, in general!

Currently, I know how my blog is ranking on Google, what ad agency I want to apply for, now onto the next step…

target stats to monetise blog

Now that we have looked into my Google Analytic stats, we can look at what stats (targets) we NEED to be approved by Mediavine.

This way we know HOW MUCH we need to bridge the gap in stats, and therefore, look into the specific things we can DO to elevate our Blogs to that point.

It’s all about having an intentional strategy that reflects exactly where you want to go, and I hope you can see that through the sequence of my thought process here!

Just keep in-mind, it' is about hitting the stat-targets, but also being compliant with Google guidelines (basic guidance linked), like being transparent, and abiding by the usual content-based rules to ensure a safe community online through your Blog.

So, for Mediavine, the target-stats for monetising my blog in 2025 is:

  • Reaching 50,000 sessions in the last 30 days, measured by Google Analytics

  • Complying with Google policies (like GDPR, having the policies you need, showing transparency, long and high-quality content)

This number of sessions does feel like a very high figure but you need to stay focused on the target; others have done it and so will you!

WORRYING WILL NOT GET YOU ANY FURTHER, ONLY ACTION WILL.

Everything you do to grow and evolve will be worth it in the long-run. Bloggers have reported to get paid upwards of £1000 with 60,000 pageviews (roughly 50,000 sessions).

That is HUGE and I think many of us girlies would agree that earning this kind of money online, from doing something we love, will be a DREAM and just the start…

Now, that we know WHAT STATS we need to monetise, we can come-up with a strategy to bridge the gap and achieve our target!

my strategy to success in 2025

I have my specific blogging goal, I have the blog stats, I have the monetisation targets; I just need to create a plan so I can take my blog to 50,000 sessions, so I can get my blog monetised in 2025!

There are many things we can focus on, as bloggers, to grow our Blogs and flourish our online business into a bigger brand. However, time is limited if you haven’t yet made it as a blogger online; specially when pregnant as a first-time mum-to-be AND working 9-to-5 so we need to be strategic and smart-thinking.

TO ME, this looks like seeing:

  • what are my best chances of reaching this target?

  • what is the best investment of my time and energy to get me to my goal?

  • what is the skill that can most quickly drive my blog-UP to high views and sessions?

My personal answer to these questions is SEO ( I know! bare with me for a second here).

For context, I already have a social media page on Pinterest, which is one form of digital marketing and promoting my blog, outside of organic traffic from posting on my blog alone. It’s been doing amazing, and I have grown it to 1MILLION monthly views, and have plans to keep growing it even further!

However, I need to get more eyes on my blog content, and feel as if I can afford to add one more level into my digital marketing strategy! I already SEO in a very basic way, but this is something I know I can invest more into to have a more established and elevated strategy.

No matter how complex the idea of SEO feels, it is the most RELIABLE way of getting our blog posts to rank highly on Google, which is what we WANT:

  • the more SEO-optimised our blog is (optimised for keywords that are being searched and looked for on Google)

  • the more Google ranks our blog posts, the more people will see our content

  • the more eyes on our content, the higher pageviews and sessions

  • the higher the chances of reaching 50,000 sessions and getting monetised

We could go down the route of diversifying social media platforms, like Instagram, Tiktok, LinkedIn, X, but from what I see myself, and from other bloggers, Pinterest is the best for outbound clicks which actually GETS PEOPLE TO YOUR BLOG.

I could test with trying this option anyway, but given the time-limit I have in 2025 with having a baby, I want to have as much of a smart strategy as possible, which to me is going ALL-IN on SEO!

Therefore, combining Pinterest with SEO seems to be the SMARTEST strategy for time efficiency AND maximising results in reaching the stats necessary on Google Analytics, for monetisation of my blog. Working smart over working hard!

The “HOW?" behind SEO is what I will need to figure out more of along the year of 2025, but I look to improve my SEO skills with the following:

  • NUMBER 1 WAY: Googling what other successful bloggers are doing

  • free learning on Youtube

  • consuming content via reading books (recent; anything from 2023 onwards), audio podcasts, Tiktok and Instagram videos

  • paid courses online (as my last resort, if I see I might need to jumpstart my SEO strategy midway through 2025)

If you have read my recent blog posts, then you already know my main focus right now is to batch as much content as possible ahead of time for maternity, as possible, but THEN SEO will be my tunnel-vision skill to strengthen!

If it wasn’t for having a baby this year, I would establish specific timeframes (which I would advise you girlies to do) to keep on-track with your goal progress, but given how unpredictable becoming a mother can be, I will have to see as I go and stay accountable with myself!

Just as I did, once you know your strategy for how you will get to your blog goal and reach your stat-targets, then look at your general life; what you have going on and any factor that would influence your time availability, so you can then prioritise, and have a CLEAR VIEW of your 2025 trajectory to blogging success.

I’ll keep you girlies updated, the further we go into 2025, on anything that has rapidly pushed me ahead towards my monetisation goals for my blog this year, as well as updates on my analytics ALL THE WAY UNTIL the day I reach my target and get approved by Mediavine in 2025.

Blogger girlies, 2025 is our YEAR. We got this!

Own your Womanhood. Own your Time.

I’ll be logging updates throughout this whole journey as a mother-to-be, working to be an entrepreneur, but to also still preserve the girlhood within, to try and be her best self, and live her happiest life, so keep-up with me through the blog!

I release a new blog post every Friday at 1pm! (UK-time)
